the Mary Kay® look product review

late last month i unboxed a mary kay voxbox from influenster, you can see that HERE
and promised a review on all the products here it is (:
(if youd like to see the day to night look i created with these products click HERE)

Mary Kay is a cosmetic based company, started by one women that changed the way cosmetics were sold, now you can find consultants to help you purchase products even in your area and online HERE

Mary Kay products in my opinion have the quality of high end makeup companies, they can be pricey but are totally worth the price.

heres the items i have been using since last month:
mary kay cream eye color in violet storm
a shimmery lavendar
no primer needed with this bad boy, its not going anywhere, no creasing or smudging, very pigmented.
for me its perfect on the lid, and i prefer to use it as a base to bring out my dry shadows,
i would recommend all the colors and the cream color/concealer brush it gives the best application
no cons found

mary kay cream eye color/concealer brush
high quality brush perfect for cream and liquid products
no cons found

mary kay lash primer & mary kay lash love lengthening mascara in i heart black
primer:
a twisted tapered bristly brush
keeps mascara on and makes lashes defined and seperated, great prep tool
works best on clean lashes
con: chemical scent

mascara:
plastic curved wand with lots of tiny bristles
super impressed by this mascara, lengthening, no clumps, ive owned for over 2 weeks and theres no signs of it drying out
works best over lash primer and when wiggling wand through lashes, also great on lower lashes and to blend natural lashes with falsies
cons: not volumizing/thickening

mary kay true dimensions lips stick in pink cherie
a perfect rose pink
the formula is extremly creamy, beautiful color fitting for most, leaves a nice stain when wears off, mess free packaging, doesnt bleed even w/o liner
works best with a liner to last
cons: over whelming perfume scent

this is an honest review of my thought on the products i received
*all products are complimentary for testing purposes from influenster and marykay

Beauty Hit: eyeliner

Almay eyeliner (black)
ive been using this eyeliner since july 2007, its my holy grail eyeliner
ive tried many black eyeliners but i always go back to this

its a retractable eyeliner w/ a built in sharpener

i use this liner in my waterline, i tightline with it, and i apply on upper lash line and with a liner brush blend/smudge into shadow to darken and create a more subtle line (it gives enough time to work with it before drying)

it is long lasting, i never find myself needing to reapply, very minimal (unwanted) smudging on lower lash line (& i dont notice that till end of the day)

its intense black exactly what i look for

ive never had any issues with the product, but i will say that i find it often out of stock in black atleast, which has caused me to try other liners but nothing ive found so far can compare to this, i even choose this over the UD zero liner which i also own

i recommend this for anyone looking for a new eyeliner, its amazing, it may not work on everyone, were all different as far as what will stay on our waterline, ive tried liners that last on others but not myself thats why i just want to add that
the liner without cap
the liner swatched, & smudged (see how the lines still very much intact)

if you try this out, let me know what you think(:
i will be doing reviews on other lines at some point since ive tried sooo many

Beauty Miss: eyeshadow base

Loreal Decrease eyeshadow base
i was looking for an inexpensive eye lid primer, and there was alot of hype for this base so i picked it up at my local drugstore for around 7 something dollars (i tend to be disapointed when i go for hyped products)

the color is a fair nude, the consistancy is alittle on the thick side
has a doe foot applicator, and i noticed the packaging isnt air tight either, the cap seems loose

i used it for about 2 weeks and came to the conclusion that im just not a fan
the problem i had was that it drys fast on the eye lid and doesnt blend well,
it leaves a noticable residue which is not attractive! although i didnt notice any creasing the residue issue is enough for me to not continue use
applicator

swatch

residue ehhh :/

whats your favorite inexpensive primer or base?

BeautyBehaved review: mascara

Maybelline falsies original VS black drama mascara

the falsies original:
PROS
  • adds length
  • inexpensive around 5 dollars
  • cute packaging
  • spoon brush
  • lasts till you wash it off, easy wash
CONS
  • dried up at 3 weeks of use
all in all its a good mascara if your looking for length, the only issue i have is that it dried up so fast and because of that i wont be repurchasing

the falsies black drama:
PROS
  • adds length & volume
  • inexpensive around 5 dollars
  • cute packaging
  • spoon brush
  • lasts till you wash it off, easy wash
 CONS
there are none!!
 wearing black drama

i noticed that this mascara doesnt dry up like the orginal, it lasts at least 2 months before drying
& it gives not only length but volume, and long, thick lashes are what im always aiming for
right now this is my fave mascara, and i recommend if your going to pick one of these up you go for black drama

i heard theres a new addition to this line "falsies flared", when i see it ill pick one up try it & add it to this review.

Twinkie Review: Pedi Paws

the incredible pet trimmer

  • rotating filing head gently files your pets nails
  • battery powered requires 2 "C" batteries
  • wont crack, splinter, or break nails
  • fast, easy & gentle

my experience & how i use it:
i agree with everything this product says it does above, i have been using it since april 2010 every 2 1/2 months on my Chihuahua and it is a blessing, i couldnt bring myself to use the traditional pet method nail clipper they look like they would hurt, so i would recommend any dog owner to use this product, this is sold at most places that advertise as seen on tv products.
the approx time it took me to trim all 4 paws was 20 minutes, including breaks for a small treat to keep calm.
there is a noticable smell from the nail being trimmed similar to the smell of a burnt hair
i empty the shavings after each paw is finished, i think it works better that way
there is a noise that at first might scare your dog but over time will get used to
each time i use this my dog is better with it, he does get fidgity (i mean who wants there hand forced) but thats what the treats help with when he gets like that i give him some and continue by the end hes laying over my arm accepting it.

ive used a few different treats with him in the past, i find this the best, i break the stick into small pieces, easy to give him during
the product
unscrew the top to empty shavings

Beauty Hit: foundation

Maybelline super stay 24hr foundation

ive been using this foundation since Aug 2009, its my holy grail foundation.

its a liquid foundation.

i usually have redness and its full coverage for me.

i wouldnt say its a "24hr" stay but it lasts till i go to bed at night and when i remove my makeup theres alot left so i would say atleast 12hrs.

i use a brush to apply, i find it the most affective way to apply and the most flawless
i have used a sponge applicator & just fingures but i would recommend using a brush.

i do mix other foundations colors with this when my skin color changes and it still seems to give the same full coverage.

the only downside i can find is that the packaging doesnt have a pump.

if you have a question about this foundation, leave a comment below (:
